SeaWorld: Here we come!

I'm finding that a huge benefit to being a military family is discounts and good deals! You saw the pictures we just got for free, we recently bought an imac and got $200 off, and now the next big deal we're going to take advantage of is going to SeaWorld for free! I found this website that gives free admission to military families once per year at either SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Sesame Place. I'll take it! It was super easy. I just filled out an online form, printed it off, and we'll present it along with our I.D.'s at the ticket counter for up to 4 free tickets. We're going to meet up with Matt and Julie in Austin on Friday and drive the hour and 20 minutes to San Antonio on Saturday morning. I'm such a kid.. I think I'm more excited then Addison is. Of course, that might all change as soon as we get there! I've only been to SeaWorld once when I was 6 years old and I clearly remember having a blast. This is going to be a fun little adventure for us to squeeze in before Mark leaves in about 14 days (trying not to think about it)... I also can't wait to see Matt and Julie.

If you know anyone in the military (especially with kids) that might want to take advantage of this theme park deal, please pass this info on. The website is www.herosalute.com .

Oh yes enjoy the discounts, we got into Sea World in San Diego and it was lot of FUN. Remember to always carry your military ID, and don't be afraid to ask everywhere you go if they offer a mil discount. You will be surprised a lot of places do. Have FUN!!

Hey Ashley, you will love Sea World. Its probably the thing I am more excited about than Ally. (: Here are my tips since we have been there twice this month LOL! Go in your swimsuit and a coverup. It is so so so hot and you will most likely get wet. They also have a swim park so its best to be in your swimsuit. Feed the dolphins during the shamu show. It will be less busy. Do lots of things during the Shamu show. The cool temp places are the sharks and penguins habitats. Get to the shows 20-30 min before they start. Try to eat lunch either before or after noon cuz it gets crazy busy! Bring your own water and juice they tell you not to but they dont check your bags really well. I just put it under the diapers and they never see it. If not, you will pay $3 for a bottle of water. You have to try out the rides they are so fun and usually not too long of lines cuz everyone is seeing animals. Oh if you do plan to get a season pass if you go to HEB get the Fun Card for Sea World, it is the same price as a 1 day pass. Most of all have fun! We love it there!!

FYI-Disney is offering a similar deal to military families: free 5-day ticket for Mark and $99 5-day ticket for up to 5 others (kids 2 and under are free). And you are eligible to stay at Shades of Green, which is the Armed Forces resort on the Disney property (and is VERY nice and cheap--we stayed there 2 years ago and are going again in October).

Discounts are one of the small perks to military life. Ask everywhere you go--you'd be surprised at how many places offer discounts. The zoo, movie theaters, etc.

Hope Sea World is a blast!
