22

Today, I’m officially 22 years old. I don’t feel a year older; in fact, it feels exactly the same, as yesterday but today I’m excited to have lived another year. I predict that this next year will be a big “learning” year for me. I hope to strengthen relationships, be a supportive wife, loving Mom, and become closer to God. A lot is changing in my little world, because of that, so is my outlook on life. I want to be a better person and focus more on helping others and not worry so much about myself. I need to learn to enjoy today and not dwell on yesterday or worry about what tomorrow might bring. I am excited about being another year older and enjoying the life that I have. I want to enjoy every minute I have with Mark before he leaves on deployment and am already looking forward to welcoming him home with a kiss and giant patriotic sign. I hope to go back to school this year and challenge myself in new ways. Overall, I’m thankful and am thinking about all of the blessings in my life today.

In the sprit of my birthday, I thought I would share 22 random facts about me and some photos of me growing up.
1. I have never felt a love stronger then the love I feel for Mark, Addison, and Lilly.
2. I think my husband is drop dead gorgeous.
3. I think about writing a book about my fears and experience of becoming a young Mom in hopes of helping other young Moms to be out there… (who knows if anyone would read it but the thought crosses my mind every now and then).
4. I think it’s so annoying when people smack their food.
5. Even though I joke with Mark and tell him no more kids, deep down, I would have one or maybe two more (not like tomorrow or anything).
6. I’m very patriotic at heart and am so proud of my husband for serving our country.
7. I’m a night owl.
8. If I go to the mall you’ll probably find me in the The Children’s Place or Gap Kids because I would rather shop for my girls than shop for myself.
9. I grew up a little on the country side.
10. I love music and want basically everything in the apple store to go along with my little obsession.
11. I would be star struck if I got to meet Oprah.
12. I sometimes imagine myself as a backup dancer for Britney.
13. I can’t help but think of cows when I drink Milk and of chickens when I crack open an egg. It kind of freaks me out.
14. I dream of a great life for my kids and want them to know that they can do anything they put their mind to.
15. I’m kind of a computer nerd.
16. Mark makes me laugh all the time.
17. I don’t really care about designer purses, shoes, and clothes. Mark actually gets mad at me for buying cheap shoes at Target.
18. I love watching Disney movies with Addison and can’t wait to take them to Disney world.
19. When the kids are grown and out of the nest I would love to travel the world with Mark.
20. I can be very forgetful and a little on the scatterbrained side.
21. I’m scared of death and someone close to me dying.
22. I could not live without my Chi. :)
YAY! That actually took some thought and was fun to do.. you should give it a try.

Birthday Month

April is a big birthday month in our family. April birthdays: Ricardo (step-dad), Christian, (brother), my Dad (just turned the big 4-0H), Carlie (sister-in-law), and ME. I love birthdays because they bring family together! Mark and I always joke and say that everyday in April is my birthday. I'll be 22 on Friday... shocking...! I'm sad Mark is not here to celebrate with me. He's currently in Cali doing Convoy Security training but that's okay because I have my two sweet girls and because Addie told me I could wear one of her tiaras so I think I just might! :) Here are a few pictures from my little brother's 6th birthday party.
Addie LOVES Christian and says she is going to marry him one day! So funny!
Cody (my other brother)
The ticket queen!... Okay so Cody did help her out a little!
Sometimes I feel like I have 3 kids...

2 Months Old

I just can’t believe Lillian is 2 months old already! She is so precious and everything she does just makes my heart melt. The love I have for both of my girls is absolutely indescribable.
Milestones hit this month:
~Lots of smiles!
~She can follow and focus on objects.
~She is super strong! She can support her head and is even trying to stand up on my lap.
~She can roll over from her back to her stomach.
~She laughs, squeals, and coos at Mommy, Daddy, and Addison. She watches Addison with a concerned look on her face… she’s already watching her big sisters EVERY move.
Addison calls her Silly Lilly and Sugarlips (I swear, I have no idea where she picked up that nickname)!
Lillian is defiantly getting into more of a routine. She’s sleeping for 4-5 hour stretches at night and is taking regular naps during the day. I’m so thankful that she is a happy, healthy, and beautiful baby girl. She’s my little Sunshine!

Easter Egg Hunt

We had an awesome Easter weekend! We went to the most chaotic Easter egg hunt that I’ve ever been to. We drove out to the new land our church purchased to watch a helicopter drop TONS of eggs in the hunting zones! Talk about intense anticipation from the kids. The 30 minutes spent waiting on the arrival of the helicopter was probably the longest 30 minutes of their lives. The music/dancing on the stage and screaming “I love Jesus yes I do” kept all of the kids entertained until the big arrival. Over 6,000 eggs and Addison only got 9 and I felt really bad for the kids that didn’t get anything! I’m telling you, Easter egg hunts can be brutal! I don’t think they should allow girls and boys to hunt together. I mean it’s just not fair for a sweet and delicate little girl to walk away with nothing and for a rough and tough little boy to walk away with his basket spilling over with plastic eggs. I’ve never seen anything like it. ALL of the eggs were gone in less than a minute.
