SeaWorld: Here we come!

I'm finding that a huge benefit to being a military family is discounts and good deals! You saw the pictures we just got for free, we recently bought an imac and got $200 off, and now the next big deal we're going to take advantage of is going to SeaWorld for free! I found this website that gives free admission to military families once per year at either SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Sesame Place. I'll take it! It was super easy. I just filled out an online form, printed it off, and we'll present it along with our I.D.'s at the ticket counter for up to 4 free tickets. We're going to meet up with Matt and Julie in Austin on Friday and drive the hour and 20 minutes to San Antonio on Saturday morning. I'm such a kid.. I think I'm more excited then Addison is. Of course, that might all change as soon as we get there! I've only been to SeaWorld once when I was 6 years old and I clearly remember having a blast. This is going to be a fun little adventure for us to squeeze in before Mark leaves in about 14 days (trying not to think about it)... I also can't wait to see Matt and Julie.

If you know anyone in the military (especially with kids) that might want to take advantage of this theme park deal, please pass this info on. The website is www.herosalute.com .

Operation: Love Reunited

Today we woke up with the sun (as Addie says) and got ready for some more family pictures! But this time our pictures were FREE! I learned about an organization called Operation: Love ReUnited through another online blogger. They have a network of photographers that volunteer their time and services to capture pre-deployment and post-deployment pictures for military families. How cool is that? Since Mark is leaving in just about two weeks I jumped at this opportunity and called up this local photographer. Addison was in a great mood and Lillian was very relaxed being outside. He just sent me an e-mail and already had all of our images posted for us.  WOW.. talk about fast! Thanks Wil and Thanks Operation: Love ReUnited! What an awesome organization. I know these pictures will bring us comfort during our first deployment.

FEX

Mark recently spent 2 weeks on Field Exercises in Ft. Hunter-Liggett, CA. He slept in a one man tent and did his best to keep the Liggetts out! He ate MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) and didn't shower for 13 days... YUCK! That's how he rolls.

This is an MRAP - Mark's home for the next year!
Mark's gun!

Dedication Day

Yesterday we had Addison and Lillian dedicated to the Lord! I'm so happy we were able to do this at our church before Mark's deployment. Here are the pics:

What an amazing experience it was for us to dedicate the girls to Him!

Update

New Toy
Okay.. so I know I kind of dropped off the face of the blogging world but I'm back now! :) We had some technical difficulties with the laptop so say hello to my new best friend.

The iMac...
Yep, I have officially joined the Mac cult! I am over the moon obsessed with my new little toy. Mark told me it's my birthday / anniversary / christmas / all of the other Hallmark holidays present... thanks honey. I'm excited about getting all of my pictures organized, itunes up to date, and  learning about all things Mac. Not to mention, iChat is going to make it easy for Mark and I to stay connected while he's away. If your an experienced Mac user please do drop me a line with your pointers.

Now some other random updates...
Sleepwalking
Just about every night between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00 a.m. I hear little footsteps coming toward our room. Little Miss Jane crawls in bed with Mommy and Daddy leaving me with no room for comfort. Up until just recently, I was under the impression that she was just waking up but NO this child is not awake when she comes into our room. I have discovered that she is actually sleepwalking each night into our room around the same time. We've been trying to break the habit and when we try to "wake" her she is not herself at all. I guess I need to do a little more research on sleepwalking because this is a new territory for us.
Thumb-sucking
Little Miss Kate has traded her pacifier in for her thumb. This kind of scares me because my brother sucked his thumb until he was 10. Braces here we come...
Working Out
I have been all around committed, eating healthier (except for today at Babes Chicken) along with working out. I have training sessions with KK and Dad at NLFC twice a week and I'm hitting 24 Hour Fitness for cardio and group classes. You would think the pounds would be just falling off after a few weeks of hard work. Wrong! I gained 4 pounds.. how does that happen? Mark says it's from building muscle. While he might be right, it's not the results I want to see. I want that number to get smaller not bigger! So my only  option is to work that much harder to get the results I want. Tomorrow marks day 1 of a week full of work outs. I'm determined to tackle this baby weight 1 workout at a time.
Deployment
Only 19 days left before I have to kiss Mark goodbye. Ugh...
Moving
I made the decision to start packing up our life and move in with my Mom while Mark is gone. I just don't want to face this deployment alone. I know I have a great family, two kids and lots to distract me but after lots of thinking I have decided to surrender my tough, independent side and accept the help. I'm looking forward to spending more time with her and having the comfort of truly being able to lean on her when I need to. So Mom, we'll see you June 1st.
That's about it for now! Night night!
