Pocket full of Sunshine

I feel like this summer is just flying by. Don't you? This comes as a surprise to me considering that I entered this summer thinking it would go by SO slow with Mark being gone. July is almost gone and I've got a very busy month coming up in August. Family reunion, trip to Mississippi to see Mark before he leaves the country, photography sessions, and then my first week back to school. Busy but I'm so excited about life in general right now! It's amazing, when you just trust that everything is going to work out... it does!

On another note, today it rained, rained, and then rained some more. You can't imagine how happy I was when I looked up the forcast and saw this...

How am I supposed to take pictures with a chance of rain every day?
As much as we need it, I wish everyday could be like this...

Meet Hannah

She's a young, smart, and beautiful girl! I had so much fun getting to know her and taking her pictures in Deep Ellum today! Every corner I turned there was a new urban background just waiting for me....

It's a Beautiful Family!

I have known Brittany since Jr. High School, she was one grade below me and was friends with my sister, Sierra. These days I bump into her at church as well as keep up with her on facebook. I did a photo session with her family as well as her older sister and her adorable little ones. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture a few memories for you! Here's a sneak peek from your session.
I could tell in just a short time that these little ones just had super cute personalities!

Can you tell I had some fun in photoshop? :)

My First Photo Shoot

After announcing that I was going to be doing free photo sessions to build up my portfolio, my brother, Cody, and his girlfriend, Natalie, were the first to jump on board. Baby Elizabeth is due August 30th and I couldn't be more thrilled to be an aunt! I had so much fun taking their pictures at The Dallas Arboretum.
This photo is my favorite... my whole back was covered in dirt from laying down on the ground to get the sun shining through the tree tops!
What do you think? Be nice... remember it was my very first shoot! :)

Announcement: Dallas Arboretum

I'm officially a member of the Dallas Arboretum! Which means, if you are interested or have already contacted me about a free photography session then this is a location option for you. Normal admission is $9.50 for adults and $6.00 for children. With my membership, I can get up to 5 people into the Arboretum at a time free of charge.

Twilight Series

I don't want to eat, sleep, or clean. I want to neglect all of my responsibilities (except being a Mommy of course) and do nothing but finish reading the Twilight Saga.

I read Eclipse until 2:30 a.m. and started Breaking Dawn today!
I can't wait to see what happens but I'm going to be truly sad when I finish. I don't want it to end... I want to live in the world of Bella and Edward forever. It's amazing! If you're living under some sort of rock and have not bought these books, you are missing out. Go buy them NOW!
November couldn't get here fast enough...

Free Photography Sessions

Who doesn't like FREE... especially in this recession!
As you know, I just got my first DSLR camera and will be taking photography classes this fall in order to learn as much as I possibly can about my newfound little hobby! I want to work on building up a portfolio and therefore would like to announce that I will be offering free outdoor photography sessions until I get good enough to brand my own little business!

Here's what you can expect...
  • I will spend an hour to an hour and a half with you and/or your family at a public outdoor location in Collin/Dallas County
  • I will select and edit your best images
  • I will mail you a CD of your edited images within 2 weeks of your session date

If you are interested, please leave me a comment and/or e-mail me at thenavywife(at)gmail(dot)com. Also, feel free to help me out and pass this information on!
Thank you!

The Cheesecake Factory

Oh, how I love The Cheesecake Factory! It's where Mark and I went on our very first "real" date... I'm not counting sitting across from him at the lunch table in high school. Every time I go I think about our first little date and it make brings back that butterfly feeling I had that night! If you haven't tried their Fresh Banana Cream Cheesecake then you're missing out!
